Rethinking the Coconut.

We started NIU Plant with a clear intention: to rethink how coconuts are processed. Not by chasing scale, but by getting the basics right, clean inputs, clear methods, and a focus on consistency, quality and integrity.

We work across two lines: edible and non-edible. For the edible side, we don’t treat it like a factory. We treat it like a kitchen. That mindset shapes how we approach hygiene, workflow and product integrity. It’s a simple shift, but one that defines how we work every day.

Why we exist

We see the coconut palm as more than just a crop, it's one of nature’s most complete and generous resources. From oil and water to fibre and shell, every part of the nut holds value. Yet in many regions, coconut processing remains overlooked, underdeveloped, or treated as an afterthought.

NIU Plant was founded to change that. We exist to show what’s possible when the coconut is handled with respect, precision and care. With the right methods, we believe coconut products can play a much bigger role in addressing food, health and sustainability challenges, not just as commodities, but as essential, high-quality solutions.

Our current mill is the stepping stone. The future flagship facility will carry that purpose further, not just as a business, but as a quiet statement and beacon of encouragement to bring coconut cultivation back, shift the narrative on processing, and do it right, with integrity.

How we work

Coconut processing is labour-intensive, skill-based and hands-on. We design our systems to support people, not replace them — with every process and piece of equipment built around care for the product, the workers and the long-term health of the mill.

Nothing is rushed. Coconut responds to time, heat and pressure in ways machines can’t fully grasp. Knowing when to adjust comes from experience. It’s not just a process — it’s a culture we protect and pass on.

Where We're Going

The current NIU Plant is just the beginning. Everything we’re doing here — from refining methods to shaping culture — is laying the groundwork for our next step: a large-scale flagship facility built with purpose.

This new mill won’t just produce more. It will produce better. More refined processes, a wider product range, and deeper integration across each part of the coconut — all guided by the same standards we hold today.

We see it as a benchmark for how coconut processing can be done right. Built from what we’ve tested, proven and learned — and shaped to lead the next chapter for coconuts in the region.
